190 Days Until International Talk Like a Pirate Day!!
In this issue:
The Pirate Guys are Back on Facebook
International Talk Like a Pirate Day now has a fan page on Facebook.
If you want to become Facebook fans of the Pirate Guys, go to our home page. You’ll find links to our Facebook page, Cap’n Slappy’s Twitter, and our Myspace page. (Please note – We’re keeping and maintaining the Myspace, it’s not an either/or proposition. We’ll stay on top of it as well as we always have.)
The BEST place to keep up to date with Talk Like a Pirate Day and the Pirate Guys is – and always will be -- our Web site. But now you can also follow us on the major social Web sites. Heck, I even have a LinkedIn account, although all I’ve ever done with it is approve links. It was all part of a plan six years ago to become paid spokesmen for our favorite beer, Dead Guy Ale. That hasn’t panned out -- yet -- but we live in hope.
And, as you may recall, Cap’n Slappy once had a Facebook account, but the Facebook federales tossed him off because “Cap’n Slappy” is a fictitious name. As if! Well, he’s got a personal page again as well. So do I for that matter -- but I'll be honest here -- I'm not very good with this social network stuff so there may not be much point in becoming a “Facebook friend” of John Ol’ Chumbucket Baur. By all means, though, sign on as a friend of Mark Cap’n Slappy Summers. He’s pretty good at this stuff.
As opposed to me, who after my birthday three weeks ago is now officially an old fart.
That’s all for now. Ye have yer orders -- go to Facebook (via talklikeapirate.com) and register with the International Talk Like a Pirate Day fan page.
Thanks for helpin’ spread the word - and the word is “Aarrr!”
Ol’ Chumbucket - editor
